Remote Work Red Flags: Job Listings That Scream "We Hate This But Had No Choice"

Inside: Remote work warning signals, what to look for, vetted remote job picks & more

Hi Freedom Seekers,

I just spent my Sunday afternoon…well…. doing something that might sound a little crazy…

I was scrolling through 50+ allegedly "remote" job listings and sending angry voice notes to my friend about the ridiculous requirements I found.

Why angry? I mean, that’s what I came across:

"Remote position - must be in office every Monday for team alignment."

"Fully remote role - candidates must reside within 30 miles of Boston."

"Virtual-first company - with mandatory in-office orientation for first 3 months."

Are you kidding me?!

These aren't remote jobs. They're literally office jobs wearing remote clothing.

I don’t want you to fall for this.

After years of working as a remote career coach (and helping dozens of folks find legitimate remote jobs), I’d say… I got pretty good at spotting the companies that genuinely embrace remote work.

Here’s exactly what to look for, so you don't waste weeks applying for positions that will make you miserable.
